About Layne Hurst
Layne Hurst serves as the Senior Vice President at Hayes Gibson Property Services, where he oversees all property management operations, accounting, and compliance. With over 15 years of industry experience, Layne brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role.
Prior to joining Hayes Gibson, Layne held several key positions in the property management sector. He served as Vice President of Affordable Housing - Property Management, at Birge and Held, Regional Vice President at Wallick Communities, and Regional Manager (among others) at Edgewood Management. These roles have equipped him with extensive experience in managing diverse property portfolios and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Layne holds a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Real Estate and Business from the University of Cincinnati. He has earned several professional designations, including Certified Property Manager (CPM) from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP), Certified Professional of Occupancy (CPO), Specialist in Housing Credit Management (SHCM), Rural Housing Specialist (RHS), and Tax Credit Compliance Specialist (TaCCs).
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Layne is actively involved in several industry organizations. He is the Kentucky state director for the Southeastern Affordable Housing Management Association (SAHMA), an executive member of the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA), and a board member of the Midwest Affordable Housing Management Association (MAHMA). Layne is also a Licensed Ohio Real Estate Salesperson.
Outside of work, Layne enjoys spending quality time with his wife and children, golfing, and traveling.
